CHEERAPPANCHIRA THARAVADU
Cheerappanchira, an ancient Ezhava tharavadu, is renowned for its Kalari and deep-rooted history. The Cheerappanchira family, along with their Mukkal Vettom Ayyappa Temple and Kalari, holds a legacy as old as the mythology of Lord Ayyappa and his sacred abode at Sabarimala. It is believed that Lord Ayyappa received his Kalaripayattu training at the Cheerappanchira Kalari. The Hermitage where he resided during this period has been meticulously preserved in its original form by successive generations of the family.
